CTCC Round 3 at Chengdu this weekend

The third round of China Touring Car Championship will be held this weekend at the Chengdu Goldenport Circuit, with Ford still looking strong.

In the Super Production class, the battle is still between the Kia 778 Racing and Chang’an Ford FRD teams. The former has had the edge on strategy in the first two rounds of the year, whilst Ford FRD have led the way on outright pace, with Andy Yan taking victory last time out at Zhuhai.

With all cars in the new SPT (1.6 litre turbo) class category finishing at Zhuhai round, both FRC Racing (Suzuki) and Shanghai VW 333 Racing show greater confidence and expect better results at the third round in Chengdu.

In the China Production class, the contest is mainly between the Beijing Hyundai Racing and the Haima Z1 Team, especially after Martin Ma Qing Hua and Sun Zheng won for their own factory teams in the first two rounds.

Chengdu is also the home circuit of the Chongqing Jiang Tung CC Racing, which showed surprising pace in Zhuhai.

The qualifying will be at14:10 (local time) on 18th June.
