Jiang Tengyi wins in Mongolia from Wang Rue

Jiang Tengyi took victory for Ford at Round 4 of the 2011 China Touring Car Championship from the Volkswagen Polo 1.6T of Wang Rue at the Ordos International Circuit.

The three Ford Focuses of Chang’an Ford FRD team occupied the first three places after the start, but pole sitter Rainey He had to pit at the end of lap one with a mechanical problem.

There was an incident at the start between the Kia Forte of Wang Shao Feng of Kia 778 Autosport and Tan Yau Zi of TSB Racing, though both could continue. Tan Yau Zi was involved in another incident on lap four with Han Han of Shanghai 333 Racing.

Rainey He was back on track on lap six, whilst the top three positions were now occupied by Jiang Tengyi for Ford, Wang Rue for Volkswagen & Jim Ka To for Kia. Jim was outpaced by his team-mate later in the race, falling behind Lo Ka Chun and down the order.

Tengyi took the win for Ford after 16 laps, with Wang Rue securing the best result of the year for Volkswagen in second and winning in the Super Production Turbo category.

The championship will now take a break and resume on September 4th, back at the Ordos International Circuit.
