The Asian Touring Car Series (ATCS) is going to have its seventh and eighth rounds at the Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia as part of the Asian Festival of Speed.
The series returns to Indonesia after the round was absent from the 2010 calendar.
Kenneth Lau of JAS Motorsport is leading the series from Japanese driver Hideharu Kuroki by three points. Kuroki, the Team IMSP driver, will not be able to attend the meet leaving the path open for Taiwanese driver Chen Jun San to move up the ranks in the points table.
Chen is only five points behind the current leader and will have the perfect opportunity to catch up as he has competed at Sentul before.
Both drivers had good outings in Sepang, climbing onto the podium both times with Lau claiming one win.
It will also be the home race for Shugeriawan Sutanta, or as some have started to call him βSugarβ in the series. He could be the dark horse of this round with the home advantage – especially the local heroes Hari Dharma and Renaldo Putro Koesoemo had won in Rounds 5 & 7 of the Indonesian ATCS back in 2009.
The ATCS will be held on Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July 2011.
