“We have along with SRL created a strong championship for Swedish racing where the core values of spectators, fast cars, sporting justice, design, green technology and entertainment gets back as main focus,” said Christian Dahl, TTA representative and Managing Director for Volvo Polestar Racing.

The touring series in the new SRL will be feature the TTA’s new concept, with 400bhp V6 engined cars with a hybrid KERS based system in a silhouette space-frame touring car. The cars will be based on large saloon cars such as the Volvo S60, Audi A4, BMW 3 series and Alfa Romeo 159.

The affiliation with the TTA has been welcomed by the Swedish Racing League.

“We were convinced that there is a strong need for GT racing when we started SRL,” said Poker Wallenberg, SRL representative. “That the TTA teams has bought SRL strengthens my belief in that we made the right decision to start our series, something the number of participants this year also confirms. I am really proud that I am a part of starting this success that is going to be a part of TTA.”
