Volvo confirmed their second driver for the new championship TTA today in the form of 2006 STCC champion and reigning Camaro Cup champion Thed Björk.
“It feels incredibly motivating to race for Volvo Polestar Racing in the new TTA. I am looking forward to an exciting season with tough and close racing,” said Björk.
Björk is going to be team-mate with multiple STCC champion Fredrik Ekblom, already confirmed at Volvo.
“Thed is a very quick driver and we are convinced that he is going to do an extraordinarily good job in the TTA for Volvo Polestar Racing along with Fredrik,” said Derek Crabb, Motorsport Director of Volvo Cars.
Volvo is going to take part with four S60 model cars in TTA 2012. Ekblom and Björk are the so far the only confirmed drivers, with Polestar’s 2011 drivers Tommy Rustad and Robert Dahlgren amongst the drivers rumoured to be set for the remaining two seats.
TTA kicks off at Karlskoga on the 12th of May next year.
