Jordi Gené tests new SEAT engine at Valencia

Former works SEAT driver Jordi Gené tested the new SEAT Sport developed 1.6 litre turbocharged SEAT León at Valencia today, after Gabriele Tarquini was unable to make the test because of heavy snow in Italy.

The 41-year-old Spaniard, who will drive a Volkswagen Scirocco for Team Biogas.se in this year’s Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, completed the first laps in the Lukoil Racing SEAT León, which will run with support from SEAT Sport this season.

The new engine is the first engine developed by SEAT for the WTCC’s new 1.6 turbo regulations, after SUNRED Engineering developed their own unit for the 2011 season.
