Leonel Pernía claimed pole position for the Renault Lo Jack Team for the Super TC 2000 race at Rosario this weekend, becoming the first driver to break the 1 minute barrier at the 2.6km circuit all weekend.
Pernía’s best time of 59.974 claimed the Renault driver his first pole position since Oberá in October 2010 in TC 2000.
Reigning champion Matías Rossi was the closest driver to Pernía, just 69 thousandths of a second slower in his Toyota Team Argentina Corolla, with the second highest placed Renault Fluence of Mariano Altuna in third.
Jorge Trebbiani was the top placed PSG16 Ford driver in fifth with Matías Russo, taking over from championship leader Cacá Bueno this weekend in ninth place, whilst José María López rounded out the top five in his Pro Racing Fiat Linea.
