Johan Kristoffersson doubles it up at Mantorp Park

Johan Kristoffersson won both opening races at Mantorp Park of the 2012 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season. The Volkswagen driver led from lap one to the finish, although with Rickard Rydell being closer in second.

Johan Stureson finished third, just as in race one, but with Michel Nykjaer in fourth this time. Patrik Olsson finished a distant fifth, 11 seconds behind, with fellow Volkswagen driver Jordi Gené in sixth.

Niclas Olsson won the independents’ category in seventh overall, beating SEAT Sport Sweden driver Robin Appelqvist i eighth. Brothers Andreas and Joakim Ahlberg claimed the last two positions in the race, ninth and tenth, both being on the independent’s podium.

Claes Hoffsten was involved in the independents’ fight earlier in the race, but had to retire on lap five. Tomas Engström in the NGTC powered Honda Civic never made it to the start of the race due to engine problems.
