Rickard Rydell won the first race at Knutstorp, leading from lights to flag to claim his first win of 2012. Johan Kristoffersson came home in second, keeping the championship lead, with Tomas Engström close behind in third for his first podium of the year.
Just as in 2011, Michel Nykjaer, who started second, got a black flag for not performing the start correctly. The Dane pitted on lap four, leaving his car in the pits, more than unhappy with the penalty.
Patrik Olsson claimed fourth ahead of team mate Johan Stureson in fifth and a lonely Jordi Gené in sixth.
SEAT drivers Santosh Berggren and Robin Appelqvist came home in seventh and eight, being 18 and 22 seconds behind respectively. Niclas Olsson and Andreas Ahlberg rounded off the top ten and were last men over the finish line.
Tony Johansson retired on lap five due to technical problems, Joakim Ahlberg lost drive on the first lap and had to retire while André Andersson never started due to engine failure.
Nykjaer starts on pole for the second race with Rydell right behind.
