Matías Rossi won the Super TC 2000 race at San Juan, claiming the championship lead. Chevrolet driver Christian Ledesma finished second with Rossi’s team mate Mariano Werner in third.
Ledesma, Werner and Agustín Canapino were involved in a big scrap for second in the race. The fight lasted until seven laps before the finish when Canapino had to retire due to technical problems.
Ledesma and Werner continued the fight until the very end, with Ledesma keeping ahead, but only just with 0.569 seconds separating the both over the finishing line.
Pole position man José María López was an early victim in the race, being forced to retire his PSG16 Team Ford Focus due to technical problems.
Peugeot 408 driver Nestor Girolami finished fourth ahead of Jorge Trebbiani and Leonel Pernía. Facundo Ardusso and Matias Munoz Marchesi rounded off the top ten.
With four races completed of the 2012 season, Rossi heads the standings on 83 points, Werner is second on 80 points and Girolami is third on 72 points. Super TC 2000 continues at General Roca on June 10.
