Fernando Monje fastest in Saturday practice session

European Touring Car Cup Super 2000 points leader was fastest again in the final practice session ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying in Imola. Monje was two seconds clear of Stian Paulsen in the SUNRED run SEAT León TDI.

Monje was the only driver under two minutes at the 4.9km circuit in Italy, finishing ahead of the fastest of the Single Make Trophy class drivers Stian Paulsen.

Monje’s closest Super 2000 competitor was team-mate Igor Skuz, who set the fourth fastest time overall, whilst title rival Petr Fulín was fifth quickest in the BMW 320si of Krenek Motorsport.

Nikolay Karamyshev was the fastest of the two Super Production class drivers. Karamyshev, already confirmed as the Super Production class champion was 2.5 seconds faster than class rival Fabio Fabiani in the F Motorsport BMW 320i.

Paolo Necchi, the only driver who can defeat Kevin Krammes in the Super 1600 classification was the fastest in that class and 14th overall in the Ravenol Team SAN Ford Fiesta. Krammes was fifth and class and 17th overall in the Ravenol Team GENA Fiesta.

Qualifying takes place at 15:00 CET.
