Johan Kristoffersson is aiming to keep the championship lead as the Superstars International Series heads to Hungaroring this weekend.
“My goal is to claim a podium finish and to keep the championship lead,” said Kristoffersson.
The Swede has so far racked up an impressive run of results in the championship for Audi Sport Italia, with two victories and two second places. After an increase in weight for the Audi RS5 from the championship organisers ahead of the previous race, Kristoffersson finished fourth and seventh.
“I know that it is not going to be easy this time either, but the goal is to score as much points as possible, that will be important for the end of the championship. I have to stay out of trouble,” said Kristoffersson.
The program for Kristoffersson in the Superstars this year is a cooperation between Audi Sport Italia and Kristoffersson Motorsport that runs the Volkswagen program in the STCC.
“Audi Sport Italia maintains the cars between the races, but we handle the car our selves during the race weekend and the results so far have shown that our guys keep a really high standard. It is great to have our Swedish guys with us, we understand each other well and there are no misunderstandings,” said Kristoffersson.
Kristoffersson heads the championship on 101 points, with Thomas Biagi in second on 84 points and Vitantonio Liuzzi in third on 82 points. The Swede also heads the rookie standings on 70 points with Andrea Boffo being closest competitor on 52 points.
