Paffett heads Mercedes 1-2 in Norisring qualifying

Championship leader Gary Paffett keeps on top as the Brit secured a Mercedes 1-2 in the Norisring qualifying session. Norisring expert and three-time winner Jamie Green claimed second position on the grid, just 0.032 seconds from pole position.

Augusto Farfus was best BMW driver in third, right ahead of best Audi driver in the form of Mattias Ekström in fourth. Ekström topped all of the first three qualifying sessions.

Ralf Schumacher, who turns 37 today, was just outside the final qualifying session in fifth, with Martin Tomczyk and Bruno Spengler right behind in positions sixth and seventh.

The final drivers to make it in to the top ten were Christian Vietoris, eight, Andy Priaulx, ninth, and Edoardo Mortara, tenth.

Mercedes claimed four positions in the top ten, BMW four and Audi just two.
