Johan Kristoffersson had a mixed Superstars weekend at Spa in Belgium where he was unable to regain the championship lead after a retired second race.
“I got a good start and was on my way past Luigi Ferrara in the first corner when he suddenly got in to a slide and hit me. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Kristoffersson.
The Audi driver had to retire with a broken damper and despite scoring second place in the first race, Kristoffersson had to leave Spa 19 points from championship leader Vitantonio Liuzzi.
“I had of course hoped for a better score this weekend, but we’ll have to be happy over a strong qualifying and the result in the first race,” said Kristoffersson.
The Swede has had a strong first Superstars season after dominating the first couple of races. Next race for Kristoffersson and the rest of the championship will be held on the 16th of September on a yet to be announced track as the originally planned event at Portimão has been cancelled.
“Anything can happen in this championship and there are many points to be scored before it is over. We are going to take a well-needed vacation and reload for the next race,” said Kristoffersson.
