Tomas Engström has taken pole position for both of tomorrow’s races at the inaugural Östersund Airport Race.
After claiming pole position for the first race courtesy of setting the fastest time in Q1, Engström was quick to replicate his pace in Q2, setting a time of 54.122, later improving with a time of 54.062 to claim his second and third pole positions of the season in the space of 20 minutes.
Engström’s closest challenger was reigning champion Rickard Rydell in the Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden-run Cruze 1.6T, who was 0.105 seconds adrift.
Championship leader Johan Kristoffersson, who qualified in second for race one, qualified third for race two in the Team Biogas.se Honda Civic, with Chevrolet’s Michel Nykjaer in fourth position.
A 15 minute warm-up takes place at 09:00 CET tomorrow, with race one at 12:40 CET and race two at 15:10 CET.
