Karlskoga hosts first of final four TTA races

The TTA – Racing Elite League returns to action this weekend at Karlskoga after a Summer break for the fifth race of eight. Fredrik Ekblom heads the points and the Volvo Polestar Racing driver likes to be the hunted one.
“I like it! I would feel more pressure if I was behind. I have got a good lead, but I know that it is tough and I am as always looking for a win, this weekend is no exception,” said Ekblom.

Closest to Ekblom is young Saab driver Linus Ohlsson who won the premiere, held at Karlskoga.
“I know that I can win here. I am really pleased with second position in the championship, we gained on Ekblom at Falkenberg last time and the goal for this weekend is to continue to gain on the lead,” said Ohlsson.

The first four TTA races have produced four different winners. Ohlsson, Ekblom, Thed Björk and most recently Richard Göransson of BMW Team Sweden. Göransson is the most victorious driver of the field at Karlskoga and the Swede hopes to improve the statistics this weekend.
“We will be in the top fight this weekend. The last race at Falkenberg was perfect for us with pole and a win. But things are no doubt going to be tough at Karlskoga, you really need to have a perfect day as a driver in order to win. I am 18 points from Ekblom, 18 points that we are going to gain in on him, starting at Karlskoga in order to be in the very title fight for the final races. That is our simple but firm plan,” said Göransson.

Ekblom is 16 points clear of Ohlsson in the lead. But there is a pack of six drivers close in the points behind the Volvo driver. And with the points system of the TTA with 25 points for victory, 3 points for pole position and 1 point for fastest lap, things can change quickly. One driver hoping for it to change quickly is Brovallen Design driver Alx Danielsson.
“Just look at Ohlsson, he had two poor races and then bounced back at Falkenberg with second place in the race, boosting him up to second place in the championship. Things can and will change in the championship order before the season end. I have no doubt that I will be in the title fight. We have found the speed in the car and our goal is to be on the podium in the remaining races,” said Danielsson.

The TTA weekend starts on Friday with testing, followed by qualifying and the race on Saturday.
