Bamboo Engineering are expecting to have two cars on the grid at Sonoma Raceway after all, whilst the team remain in ongoing negotiations with drivers about the second car alongside Alex MacDowall.
Team Principal Richard Coleman has confirmed to TouringCarTimes the independent squad have been in negotiations with drivers ahead of the next round of the WTCC in just over two weeks’ time at Sonoma Raceway.
The team’s second car has been driven by the 24-year-old Italian Pasquale Di Sabatino up to and including the Portuguese round of the Championship in June, and then by last year’s independents’ trophy runner-up Michel Nykjaer in Brazil, but the Dane will be unavailable at the Sonoma weekend due to clashing commitments in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
Alex MacDowall has driven the #11 car for the full season so far and currently sits fourth in the Yokohama Independents’ Trophy.
