Mangs takes first ever TTA pole as Danielsson crashes

Jocke Mangs surprised the field by taking his first TTA pole position in style, 0.222 seconds ahead of title contender and Saab driver Linus Ohlsson.
“It’s just amazing, I don’t think I have ever been this happy. I have had two tough races so far in the TTA and we haven’t got the car right. But everything worked now,” said Mangs.

Things were worse for Mangs’ team mate Alx Danielsson who crashed heavily with three minutes left in the first chicane, bringing the red flags out.
“Alx hit the barriers hard, he walked out of the car on his own but he has been taken to the mandatory medical check up. We will most likely not be able to repair the car for the race,” said Tobias Johansson, Team Manager for Brovallen Design.

Ohlsson was 0.222 seconds behind Mangs in second position, securing two points in the championship for his hunt on championship leader Fredrik Ekblom who only managed sixth position on the grid.

Daniel Haglöf had his best qualifying session so far in TTA with third on the grid ahead of Danielsson’s best time. Richard Göransson was best BMW driver in fifth ahead of Ekblom and Fredrik Larsson, who yet again had problems and had to stop early in the session with technical problems.

Stefan Söderberg, Robert Dahlgren and Thed Björk rounded off the top ten. The race starts at 15.15 CET.
