Jocke Mangs: “I am going to win the final race”

Jocke Mangs had TTA weekend of ups and downs at Tierp Arena. The Citroën driver claimed a superior pole position only to be disqualified from second in the race.
“Despite the penalty, this was one of my best race weekends ever if not the best,” said Mangs.

Mangs was given a drive through penalty as the team failed to lowed the car from the air jacks in time for the three-minute signal ahead of the race. As Mangs never came in for his penalty, he was disqualified from the race in which he finished second.
“I didn’t see the flag and we had problems with our radio communication. I think it would have been better to penalize the team instead of ruining the races. But as I’m not in for the championship fight, it is not a big deal for me,” said Mangs.

The former double Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia champion joined Brovallen Design two races ago but has struggled to find the pace until Tierp Arena.
“We got the car right now, I was able to push as hard as I wanted. I was superior through the fast parts of the track and I was the driver that dared to keep the foot down when the brain said no,” said Mangs.

Mangs only got three points with him from Tierp Arena thanks to his pole position. The goal for the final TTA race of the year at Gothenburg City Arena is a victory.
“I’m taking all this with me to Gothenburg in two weeks and it would be stupid to have anything but a victory as goal,” said Mangs.
