Tekno Autosports have confirmed Lucas di Grassi and Marc Lieb as their international co-drivers for the Gold Coast 600.
Lucas di Grassi will pair up with Michael Patrizi for the two races. The Brazilian has extensive open wheel experience in Formula 3, GP2 as well as F1, in which he remains as the official test driver for Pirelli. Most recently he drove the works Audi at Interlagos last weekend in the latest World Endurance Championship round.
It will be di Grassi’s first Gold Coast 600 and Michael Patrizi is looking forward to pairing up with him: “It is an awesome opportunity to partner a highly credentialed driver such as Lucas. I’m looking forward to racing in the Gold Coast 600 for the first time, having Lucas alongside me will ensure we have a good chance at racing towards the pointy end.”
Marc Lieb, who raced in the GC600 with Stone Brothers Racing last year, will partner Jonathon Webb. The German is a factory Porsche driver whose recent achievements include a win at the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2011 24 Hours Nürburgring.
Webb thinks co-driver Lieb is well suited for the role: “Marc Lieb is an ideal partner for the Gold Coast 600 endurance event, he was consistently fast in 2011, and has had great successes in endurance racing. He is the right man for the job.”
The Gold Coast 600 will be held on the streets of the Gold Coast on October 19-21.
