Matt Neal is going take part in the BTCC races at Rockhingham this weekend with a broken hand after a motorcycle accident two weeks ago.
“It’s worse than last year and bloody hurts, but bike riders have to deal with far worse so I’m going to keep my trap shut and get on with it,” said Neal to btcc.net.
The Honda driver broke the same hand one year ago while practicing martial arts but has been given green lights by the doctors to race this weekend.
“I’ll be heavily strapped up when I’m in the car and on painkillers. But the big worry is that Rockingham is a circuit we’d planned on scoring big as it’s a circuit which suits my car, the Honda Civic,” said Neal.
Neal is expecting a hard with fight title rival Jason Plato this weekend, Neal heads the championship 36 points ahead of the MG driver.
“If it was Silverstone which is in two weeks I wouldn’t be bothered because I’m not expecting that to be one of our stronger circuits. But at Rockingham we need to make hay before Jason comes back at us in the final two rounds at Silverstone and Brands Hatch,” said Neal.
