Alain Menu: Manufacturers’ title is “Fantastic for Chevrolet”

Alain Menu secured his third pole position of the year, his second pole at Suzuka and helped securing the manufacturers’ title for Chevrolet.
“It’s great to take a third pole of the year and repeat the one obtained here last year. Still, the best news of the day is having secured the Manufacturers’ title, which is fantastic for Chevrolet and the entire RML team,” said Menu.

Menu has dominated the Suzuka weekend so far by being fastest in all practice sessions.
“The car performed extremely well and I must thank my engineers and mechanics because they did a superb job. We were on top of the two free practice sessions, but we implemented some set-up changes as we felt that we were going in the wrong direction. It proved to be the right choice,” said Menu.

Finding the right setup for the car at Suzuka is according to Menu difficult due to the special characteristics of the track.
“On this circuit, it is almost impossible to find the perfect balance, so it’s a matter of finding the best compromise. We achieved it and I managed to complete a good lap in Q2. We will see what tomorrow brings, but let’s enjoy the title for today,” said Menu.
