Ekström leads Audi 1-2-3 in Hockenheim warm up
Mattias Ekström topped the Warm-Up at Hockenheim. The Swede put his Audi A5 in first ahead of Adrien Tambay and Mike Rockenfeller, making it an Audi 1-2-3.
Andy Priaulx was the best placed BMW driver in fourth and led a pack of six cars separated by as little as six hundredths.
Championship leader Gary Paffett came fifth ahead of Martin Tomczyk, with Audi drivers Timo Scheider and Edoardo Mortara came seventh and eighth respectively. Dick Werner’s BMW and Filipe Albuquerque’s Audi completed the top ten.
Just outside the first ten was Bruno Spengler, who had an off at the Sachs Kurve with ten minutes to go and completed the session in eleventh, four tenths off the lead.
Pole man Augusto Farfus came 14th ahead of championship contender Jamie Green, who beached his Mercedes into the gravel with seven minutes to go and had to be helped by the track personnel to go back to the pits, putting his session to an early end.
