480,000 euro in prize money confirmed for 2013

Prize money for the Yokohama Trophy of the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship has been confirmed. The total sum for the season is 480,000 euro, just as this year.

One change has been made after a meeting between the championship organisers and team owners to award the prize money on a race-by-race basis, rather than event-by-event basis as this year.

Each race will see the first six drivers of the Yokohama Trophy being awarded according to the following list:

1st 6,000 euro
2nd 5,000 euro
3rd 4,000 euro
4th 2,500 euro
5th 1,500 euro
6th 1,000 euro

The points scale has not been changed from last year with ten points to the winner, down to one point for eighth, as well as one extra point for the top driver in qualifying and fastest lap in the race. The final race of the year at Macau awards double points.
