The CTCC resumes at Tianma this weekend

The third round of the 2013 China Touring Car Championship will be held this weekend at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit.

Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team and Chang’an Ford FRD Team have shared a win each in the first two races, with Wang Rue taking victory at Zhuhai for Volkswagen and Andy Yan for Ford at Shanghai, whilst Kia and Honda will be aiming for the top step of the podium with their new cars, the Kia K2 1.6Ts and the Honda Spirior.

The performance of the privateer teams will also be vital this weekend. G Racing finished fourth and sixth at the season opener at Zhuhai, whilst ASR da Marco performed impressively at Shanghai, with Zhang Sheng Jun qualifying in second and finishing third in the race in the Chevrolet Cruze.

In addition to the CTCC’s China Production Class and a local one-make race series as its support races, the Korean Super Race will make its first appearance on the CTCC calendar at this round with their own Super 6000 series (based on Brazilian Stock Car), GT (Production cars using between 1600cc to 3500cc naturally aspirated engines and/or 2000cc Turbo-engines) and Super 1600 (Production cars using 1600cc engines), which will be an exciting addition to the weekend’s package.

The qualifying will be held at 16:00 (local time) on 8th June.
