Thed Björk tops first Solvalla test session

Thed Björk and Volvo topped the first practice session at Solvalla, a mere 0.032 seconds ahead of BMW driver Fredrik Larsson.

Volvo and BMW occupied the top six positions, with Robin Rudholm (BMW) in third, Fredrik Ekblom (Volvo) in fourth and Linus Ohlsson (Volvo) in fifth. Championship leader Richard Göransson rounded off the top six, 0.337 seconds from the top.

Daniel Haglöf was best non BMW or Volvo driver in seventh position with his Saab 9-3. The PWR Racing driver headed three Saabs with Roar Lindland in eight and Alexander Graff in ninth.

Robert Dahlgren rounded off the top ten for Volvo Polestar Performance and was the final driver below one second from the top spot.

The test session marked the first ever run for the new STCC (TTA) cars. The session went without incidents, except for a short spin for Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte.

Jocke Mangs only managed to complete one lap before he had to park his car due to electrical problems with his Brovallen Design Citroën.

The second and final test session of the day starts at 17.00 CET.
