Johannes Leidinger takes pole for Engstler at Sachsenring

Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has claimed pole position for the first race tomorrow at the Sachsenring ahead of reigning champion Jens Weimann.

Leidinger’s lap time of 1:31.977 in his BMW 320si E90 was just over half a second clear of Weimann in the identical 320si, with Ardi van der Hoek third quickest for RSK-Motorsport and Guido Naumann on his ADAC Procar Series debut fourth fastest for the Engstler team.

Swiss driver Markus Huggler was the last driver in the Super 2000-spec Division 1 class in fifth in the older BMW 320i E46, whilst Austrian driver David Griessner grabbed pole position in Division 2 with a time of 1:39.514 in his ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 Sport.

Ralf Glatzel qualified second in Division 2 in his Ford Fiesta 1.6 16v ahead of his two team-mates, Belarussian driver Yury Krauchuk and German Kai Jordan.

The first race gets underway at 8:40 CET tomorrow with the result of the race setting the grid for the race two in the afternoon.
