Han Han on pole for VW at Zhuhai ahead of Look’s Chevrolet

Reigning CTCC champion Han Han has claimed pole position for the seventh round of the China Touring Car Championship at Zhuhai, ahead of the G Racing Chevrolet of Kenneth Look, with Volkswagen team-mate Guo Hua Yan third.

Huang Chu Han of Kia Racing had initially set the pace in his K2, but was eventually dropped to seventh as the field improved. Huang ended up as the best placed of the Korean manufacturer’s drivers this weekend.

Rainey He of Chang’an Ford FRD Team was the fastest for the marque in fourth. Team-mate Andy Yan, running with success ballast this weekend, qualified just outside the top ten in 11th, one spot behind his championship rival Wang Rue.

The CTCC Super Production race will take place at 13:22 local time on Sunday.
