Zengõ to run a new Civic for Norbert Michelisz in 2014

Zengõ Motorsport will continue their relationship with Honda in 2014, and the Hungarian team will run one new 2014-specification Honda Civic for Norbert Michelisz next season.

The team had been widely tipped to run one of Honda’s independent cars next season. Honda have yet to announce who will run the planned fourth car. The manufacturer yesterday confirmed that Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro will continue to race for the two-car works team which is fielded by JAS Motorsport in 2014.

Michelisz, the 2012 Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy champion, will be going into his fifth season in the World Touring Car Championship, after starting out in 2010 with a SEAT León TDI. The 29-year-old Hungarian took his first win of the season in front of the Japanese crowd at Suzuka last time out, dominating the race from pole position.

“I’m very happy with having the possibility to continue with Zengö Motorsport and Honda,” said Michelisz. “With the experience we built up since 2010 and the help from JAS Motorsport and Honda I am confident we’ll have the potential to fight for top positions in 2014.”
