EUROV8 confirms six titles and progress on new BoP measures

The EUROV8 SERIES organisers have confirmed that there will be six titles up for grabs in this year’s series, while Balance of Performance (BoP) measures for the first round will be confirmed later this month.

Balance of Performance was a controversial topic in the 2013 Superstars Series season, with much animosity between the rear-wheel drive Romeo Ferraris Mercedes team and the four-wheel drive Audi Sport Italia squad, with Gianni Morbidelli still able to out-drive the rear-wheel drive cars despite carrying excessive weight during the final few races of the season.

The BoP measures for the opening round at Monza will be announced on March 20th, and will be agreed by a working group comprised of the teams which are competing this year.

“The representatives of the teams are trying to define a round-specific technical conformity for the cars, in order to take the different character of each venue into account,” said a statement from the working group.

“The BoP for the first round, set for the 6th of April at Monza, will be announced by March 20th and will consider all the proposals advanced today by each of the manufacturer representatives regarding their cars. The ATT (Associazione Team Top Car) is proud of the collaborative spirit of the members as it helped to reach an unanimous agreement.”

The series’ organisers have also confirmed that there will be six titles to contend for in the 2014 EUROV8 SERIES season.

1. The Drivers’ title
2. The Teams’ title
3. The Female Drivers’ title (open to all female drivers)
4. The Under 25s title (open to drivers born after Jan 1st 1990)
5. The Gentleman Drivers’ title (open to drivers who are 50 or over)
6. The Speedy title (for the driver with the most fastest laps)
