Nick Whale to race his BMW M3 in HSCC Super Tourers

Former BTCC driver Nick Whale will return to the driver’s seat of his 1991 BMW M3 for the 2014 HSCC Super Touring Trophy.

Whale competed in the 1990 and 1991 BTCC seasons, racing alongside Godfrey Hall and John Clark in his debut season with Pyramid Motorsport, before partnering Nick Baird and future three-
time BTCC Champion Matt Neal for 1991 at Tech-Speed Motorsport.

Since leaving the BTCC, Whale turned to Thundersaloons and British GT before later shifting his focus to historic racing and rallying.

The car, complete in its 1991 #66 Auto Trader livery, has been prepared by BMW specialists Amspeed and has already completed its first test, with Whale getting behind the wheel for a shakedown at Silverstone on Sunday 9th March.

Whale now becomes the fourth former BTCC driver to turn back the clock in the HSCC Super Touring Trophy, joining Tim Harvey, Patrick Watts and John Cleland, with the latter two expected to mount a full-season challenge in 2014.
