Gabriele Tarquini’s Honda repaired and ready for Paul Ricard

Gabriele Tarquini’s Honda Civic has been repaired and is ready to take part in this weekend’s races at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, with the team’s mechanics having worked overnight to complete repairs on the Italian’s car, which was badly damaged last week in Marrakech.

The 52-year-old Italian was forced to sit out qualifying and the two races last weekend after his car was hit during the second free practice session by Gianni Morbidelli’s Münnich Motorsport Chevrolet Cruze.

The car was transported away to Le Castellet a day ahead of schedule in order to allow the team more time to repair the car for the 30 minute test session which begins at 14:00 CET.

The Citroën Total WTCC have also completed repairs on Yvan Muller’s C-Elysée which was damaged in a first lap crash in race two with Tom Coronel’s ROAL Motorsport Chevrolet.

The Dutchman will however not be taking part this weekend, with the ROAL team busy preparing his car for transportation back the UK so it can be repaired for the next round in Budapest in two weeks’ time. Coronel will instead be on duty behind the microphone, assisting regular commentator Martin Haven on the English language international feed this weekend.
