Adam Morgan upbeat despite ride height hit

Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan was upbeat despite a disappointing qualifying, where he lost a top six starting slot after his Mercedes A-Class failed a ride height test.

Morgan was sitting pretty in fourth when he had his times deleted, and despite a late dash to set another quick time, he could do no better than 17th on a track which was slower than at the start of qualifying.

The 2011 Ginetta Supercup champion is hopeful of making good progress forward in tomorrow’s races.

Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Morgan said: “We don’t know how much it failed it by, but it was probably a millimetre if anything. It is one of those things. We’ve just got to get on with it, really.

“We had another tyre run to do so we could have gone even quicker. I know [Alain] Menu and [Aron] Smith went faster so we would have been down in P7, but the car felt really good.

“I was really comfortable in the car, and I was flat down the Craner Curves, which is something I can hold my hands up and say. I was happy with that.

“We know we can do it – we’ve shown that in qualifying. I’ve got to avoid the trouble, get a good start and move forward.”
