Tough DTM return for Paul di Resta at Hockenheim

Ex-Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta endured a difficult return to the DTM after he qualified 19th in his Mercedes C Coupe.

After three years in Formula 1 with Force India, di Resta returned to the DTM with Mercedes, the manufacturer that saw him net the 2010 DTM title. However, like the rest of the Mercedes squad, di Resta qualified 19th on his DTM return at Hockenheim.

“It was a tough qualifying,” said di Resta following the session. “I had some traffic on my second set of tyres but was quite pleased with my first set and the changes we made during the interval after practice. We might have gone through into the Top 10 but didn’t quite manage it in the next segment.

“It happens sometimes, and then you must simply roll up your sleeves and give it everything.”
