Martin Xie leads Ford 1-2-3-4 at Tianma

Martin Xie won the fourth round of the 2014 CTCC at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit this after taking his third pole position yesterday.

Xie’s Changan Ford FRD Team team-mates Rainey He, Andy Yan and Darryl O’Young finished second to fourth, with the team dominating the race.

Shanghai VW 333 Racing’s Guo Hua Yang had passed Andy Yan at the start of the the race, but was passed back by Yan a few corners later.

Kenneth Look also lost ground in the independently entered G-Racing Chevrolet Cruze, and was passed the other Shanghai VW 333 Racing team’s Polos and fell to ninth position.

Volkswagen’s Gao Hua Yan was passed by Ford’s Darryl O’Young and his Volkswagen team-mate Lo Ka Chun on lap 20 and dropped to sixth position, with O’Young’s move securing the best result possible for the Ford team.

Lin Le Feng of G-Racing passed his team-mate Look on lap 22, and then passed Wang Rue three laps later, before suffering with a mechanical problem shortly afterwards and retired from the race.

Martin Xie now leads the standings on 38.5 points, with Rainey He second on 23.5 and Darryl O’Young on 23.

The fifth round of CTCC will be held on August 24th at Korean International Circuit, it’s the first time for CTCC to race overseas.
