Tomas Kostka takes pole at home race in Brno

Tomas Kostka took pole position for his home race at Brno in the Czech Republic. The Audi driver dominated the session, emerging some seven tenths quicker than series points leader Nicola Baldan.

The Roma Racing Team driver was not able to match his rival, or even get under the 2:08 barrier. Baldan will be followed by series rookie Emanuele Zonzini, a good third in his debut weekend for Audi Sport Italia, and Francesco Sini’s Chevrolet Camaro.

Team BMW Dinamic took fifth with Max Mugelli, with team-mates Niccolò Mercatali and Maurizio Copetti following him in the order in their BMW M3 E92s.

Audi’s Ermanno Dionisio will start from eighth ahead of Diego Romanini’s CAAL Racing Mercedes and Giovanni Lavaggi’s Lexus ISF.

Tomorrow will mark the last time the series uses its usual two-race format, starting at 10.00 and 15.15 CET. The final events of the season will host a single, longer race.
