Andrew Jordan reignites title defence at Croft

Reigning champion Andrew Jordan reignited his title defence with a final race victory at Croft, and says he will be concentrating on getting the most out of his package in the second half of the season.

Like fellow title rival Gordon Shedden, Eurotech Racing’s Jordan says his focus is on getting the best out of the tools at his disposal, rather than debating the merits of the front-wheel drive versus rear-wheel drive battle.

The win in the third race was not without its troubles, with the stewards ruling that Jordan was at fault for the first lap incident with Motorbase Performance’s Fabrizio Giovanardi, landing him with a 10-place grid penalty for the first race at Snetterton.

Speaking before the penalty was announced, Jordan said: “It’s great to be back up there, we really needed it. Oulton Park was poor, so to get a win here was fantastic. The boys have been working their arses off.

“I would have been happy to get a podium,  so to get a win is special. It means a lot, because I’ve been on a bit of a downer.

“We never give up, and I’m not going to give up. Obviously all the talk’s about the Bee-Ems and how strong they are, but I’m going to keep pushing and get the most out of the package we’ve got.

“It’s going to ebb and flow all year long, but we need to be consistent and win races.”
