Fredrik Ekblom and Emma Kimiläinen on Falkenberg pole positions

Fredrik Ekblom was fastest in both qualifying sessions at Falkenberg, meaning tenth position on the grid for the first race and first position for the second race. Emma Kimiläinen becomes the first ever female driver to start from pole position in the first race after being tenth fastest in the first qualifying session.

Q1 saw Ekblom being fastest with a record breaking 0.316 seconds around the very short and fast Falkenberg track, clinching 25 points for the championship. Local driver Fredrik Larsson was second fastest, meaning ninth on the grid and 18 points for the championship, and Saab driver Richard Göransson third fastest, meaning eighth on the grid.

Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson, who has shown strong form all weekend, was fourth fastest in Q1, right ahead of reigning champion Thed Björk, meaning seventh and sixth grid position respectively for race one.

The first qualifying session ran under yellow flags during the final minutes as Kia driver Andreas Wernersson went off in the penultimate corner. The off meant that the Team Kia driver missed Q2, despite being seventh fastest and making it to the top eight Q2 session.

Ekblom was fastest again in Q2, but with a surprise in second place. Andersson put Dacia on the front row for the first time ever in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, being 0.119 seconds from pole position.

Björk claimed third position on the grid with Göransson in fourth and Larsson in fifth. Kia drivers Mattias Lindberg and Ohlsson is going to line up sixth and seventh, ahead of team mate Wernersson in eighth.
