Mariano Werner ends two-year victory drought at Resistencia

Mariano Werner ended a two-year victory drought in the Super TC2000 race at Resistencia today. The Fiat driver won the race ahead of Renault driver Leonel Pernia and Fiat driver Facundo Ardusso.

Werner controlled the race from start to finish, with Pernia only being able to shadow him to finish two seconds behind in the end.

Ardusso fought his way to the final podium spot after starting seventh, climbing three places already on the opening lap.

Agustin Canapino crossed the line in fourth position for Peugeot LoJack Team ahead of Emiliano Spartaro and Matias Rossi.

Werner’s victory has brought the Fiat Petronas driver up to third position in the championship, just 14 points from championship leader Norberto Fontana who only managed eighth place in the race. Nestor Girolami holds second place in the championship, ten points behind Fontana, after finishing right behind his title rival in ninth position.
