Hexathron Racing develop new Kia for CTCC

European-based Hexathron Racing Systems has been appointed to develop by Kia to develop the new K3S model for the China Touring Car Championship.
”After LADA and Lotus Cars, KIA Motors is a new brand that has chosen Hexathron Racing Systems for the development of its racing car: this is the best recognition for the work carried out by HRS team during the years,” said Marco Calovolo, Director of Hexathron.

The new cars made their debut in the CTCC race at Yeongam in Korea in the hands of KIA Racing Team together with Hexathron Racing Systems last weekend where drivers Michael Soong and Lin Larry Le Feng finished eighth and tenth respectively.
”The debut with KIA Motors in the CTCC race in Korea has been absolutely positive: the KIA K3S and KIA Racing Team have shown great potential considering that this was only the very first step of evolution. In the next rounds we will introduce further improvements in all components of the car,” said Calovolo.

The main objective for the team is to prepare for the 2015 season when they will run four cars. Next up is the CTCC races at the Beijing Goldenport circuit, an event held together with the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
”The target for 2014 is to gather the most information in order to be on top at the begin of next season. Hexathron Racing Systems is the main partner of KIA Motors but not only as a fundamental support one track during the racing weekends: our team of engineers will be an active part in the design, study and optimization of mechanical components and aerodynamic innovations that characterize the 2015 car,” said Calovolo.
