Thed Björk: “I rank my third title as a career highlight”

Thed Björk turned around a slow start to the season to charge back to the championship lead to take his second straight and third ever STCC title.
”The feeling is indescribable! I have fought hard together with my team and they have made an awesome job all year. To crown the season with my third STCC title is incredible and something I rank as a highlight in my racing career,” said Björk.

Björk joins Jan ”Flash” Nilsson, Roberto Colciago and Richard Göransson whom are the only other drivers to have claimed a back-to-back title.
“I am of course honored to be among them. I did not think as a kid when driving gocart that I would claim three STCC titles,” said Björk.

There has been ongoing speculation on Björk’s whereabouts for next season as his contract with Volvo Polestar Racing ends after this season. But the 33-year-old is keen to remain with the team.
“I have a dream job to race for Volvo and Polestar, as well as representing them with our road car models all over the world. My goal for next year is to take a third straight title with Volvo Polestar Racing,” said Björk.

Björk secured the title with 33 points ahead of main rival Fredrik Larsson and 51 points over team mate Fredrik Ekblom in third position.
