Dusan Borkovic’s appeal rejected by FIA

The FIA International Court of Appeal has rejected Dušan Borković’s appeal on his exclusion from the second WTCC race in Argentina.

The Campos Racing driver was excluded from eighth place in the second race at Termas de Río Hondo after failing the post-race ride height check. The team appealed the exclusion, believing that it was due to accident damage and not a fair ground for exclusion.

The hearing regarding the appeal took place last Friday at the FIA headquarters in Paris where the court decided to uphold the decision taken by the Panel of Stewards, as Campos Racing ”failed to provide any convincing evidence that the irregularity was due to the breaking of the flat bottom during the competition.”

WTCC resumes racing this weekend at Beijing in China.
