The other Fords of points leader Martin Xie and Andy Yan qualified fifth and sixth, while Huang Chu Han, Darryl O’Young’s replacement, qualified down in 14th position.

Shanghai VW 333 Racing’s best placed driver was Zhang Zhen Dong in fourth, while Jiang Tengyi, Wang Rue and Han Han qualified in seventh, eighth and 12th positions in their Polo 1.6Ts.

Not featuring in the top ten were the Kia Racing K3Ss, with Larry Lin Le Feng and Michael Soong qualifying in 13th and 16th positions.

With 2012 WTC champion Rob Huff providing guidance to the Team Work squad this weekend, the privateer Citroën team outshone their class rivals G Racing, with Sunny Wong and Alex Hui qualifying in ninth and 11th for the race.
