BTC Racing “setting sights high” for 2015 season

Chris Stockton and the BTC Racing team say they are setting their sights high for 2015, after a promising end to the season at Brands Hatch.

After battling engine reliability issues all season, the team have finally made progress after fitting the TOCA engine to their Chevrolet Cruze hatchback, and believe they have made significant inroads in closing the gap to the pack.

Stockton ran as high as 13th in race one before a nudge from Luke Hines turned him around, and he eventually came home 18th. He was up in 12th in race two before contact from Dave Newsham dropped him down the pack.

Again, Stockton fought back to 18th, but his third race was cut short – a legacy of the damage suffered in the second race.

Reflecting on the year, and looking forward to next season, Stockton said: “This year has been incredibly difficult with the early engine failures, but since the change to the Swindon engine, the car and team have made massive steps forward in reducing the gap in pace from three seconds to 0.75 seconds.

“We have to be pleased with the progress we have made, as a competitive bunch of course we wanted to win and now have our sights set high for next year. I would like to thank the team for all their hard work and dedication and our fantastic sponsors who have supported us when times were tough, we look onwards and upwards to a great 2015.”
