Wilson Security confirms end of partnership with DJR

Dick Johnson Racing title sponsor Wilson Security has confirmed their exit from the team ahead of the 2015 V8 Supercars season.
“With DJR now moving into a new phase of ownership from next year, we reassessed our position,” said John McMellan, Wilson Security CEO.

The exit comes as DJR is going to join forces with American racing giant Penske Racing for next season.

“From that review, Wilson Security determined it to be a practical and appropriate time for us to look at alternative opportunities that fit with our commercial strategy moving forward. On behalf of everyone at Wilson Security and Payce Consolidated, I would like to wish Dick and his team all the best with their new plans for the 2015 Championship and beyond,” said McMellan.

Penske is going to run Marcos Ambrose in the #17 Ford Falcon with DJR next year while the second car is yet to be confirmed regarding driver and sponsorship. Current DJR driver Scott Pye is likely to continue while David Wall is likely to leave the team.

“We have enjoyed a great relationship with John McMellan and Brian Boyd. They are great supporters of motor sport and we fully respect and understand their decision,” said Dick Johnson.

Wilson Security are yet to confirm their plans for next year regarding potential partnerships with V8 Supercars teams.
