Wilson Security joins Volvo Polestar Racing as title sponsor

Wilson Security has signed a two-year contract as naming rights partner for Volvo Polestar Racing in the V8 Supercars.
“Synergies between brands are often spoken about in situations like this, but we’re genuinely excited about this partnership as we can see clear opportunities for all parties,” said John McMellan, Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific for Wilson Security.

“We have been keeping a close eye on Volvo and Polestar’s progress in their debut season of the V8 Supercars Championship, and it’s not often you get the opportunity to partner with a global luxury car manufacturer so we’re looking forward to it.”

Wilson Security announced their exit from Dick Johnson Racing a couple of days ago, something also adding fuel to the speculations on the identity of the second driver alongside Scott McLaughlin at Volvo next year.

Rumors have indicated that either of the current DJR drivers, Scott Pye or David Wall, might be set for the second Volvo seat in 2015.

Payce Consolidated will join Wilson Security on the 2015 V8 Supercars Volvos together with the current sponsor Valvoline.

“Like Volvo Car Australia, Wilson Security and Payce have strong local objectives and we’re looking forward to working together collaboratively to help fulfil our goals,” said Kevin McCann, Volvo Car Australia Managing Director.

While the identity of the second driver has not been announced yet, Volvo Polestar Racing has confirmed that they will continue with two cars in 2015 and not expand to more cars as has been speculated.

“We are going to focus on improving a number of areas on our two cars for 2015 instead of adding more cars,” said Christian Dahl, owner of Polestar.
