Audi Sport tries new drivers in Jerez

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters is back on track, with the first post season collective test taking place in Jerez this week. All three manufacturers – Mercedes, BMW and Audi – are present at the Spanish circuit.

As is usual in these winter tests, Audi Sport has a number of their regular drivers, Mattias Ekström, Nico Müller and Miguel Molina at the wheel, but has also invited some young drivers who have never raced in the DTM before.

On this occasion, Audi is trying out young Spaniard Alex Palou, who made his single-seater debut in the Euroformula Open this season, Italian GT driver Marco Mapelli, fellow young Italian Antonio Giovanazzi, Danish Porsche Supercup star Nicki Thiim, Belgian GT Audi driver Laurens Vanthoor and former Formula 2 champion and 2014 GP3 Series runner up Dean Stoneman.

Thursday will be the last day of DTM testing at Jerez this week.
