Honda complete final test of 2014 at Jerez

The Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team have completed another four day test in Spain, their final test programme of the 2014 season, as the Japanese marque seeks to close the gap on season pace setters Citroen in 2015.

The JAS Motorsport team were working on a number of new components designed to help improve the performance of the Honda Civic WTCC.

“They were four long days, many laps around the track testing a number of technical solutions,” said Honda’s Tiago Monteiro. “Some worked better than others, but we know exactly which way to go. The fact that we had different weather for this test made it even more productive.

“We will continue to focus on the work we are doing to develop the car before the start of the new season. We will now take a break for the holiday season, but we will return to the track early in the New Year to continue testing and preparing the Honda Civic as next season is going to be very demanding.”

The team will test again in mid-January at Valencia.
