Provisional schedule for the WTCC’s visit to the Nordschleife

The provisional timetable for the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s first visit to the Nürburgring Nordschleife has been revealed.

There will be a test at the circuit organised on April 28th for the WTCC teams and drivers in the week before the Hungarian round of the Championship, while the race proper takes place on Saturday 16th May, with the second race due to finish two hours before the start of the Nürburgring 24 Hours race.

The WTCC races will both be three laps each, therefore the standard length of a standard WTCC race of 60km, with 30 minutes between the two races.

Due to the length of the track, the practice and qualifying sessions will all be one hour long, with the three-part qualifying format set to be dropped for this event, although qualifying will take place late in the evening at 18:20 CET.

There will also be a return of the warm up session for this event, dropped in general last season, with a 30 minute session at 8:05 on Saturday.
