Eight races on preliminary 2015 China Touring Car Championship calendar

The preliminary calendar of the 2015 China Touring Car Championship has been released by the FASC – Federation of Automobile Sports of PRC. The calendar features eight races of which the seventh round will be held together with the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Shanghai.

The season starts at the Guangdong International Circuit on April 26th, with the season finale at the Yancheng Street Circuit on October 25th. All races bar one are held in China, with the fifth round being held at Inje Speedium Circuit in South Korea.

While the entry list for the championship is yet to be released, there are some news: Hong Kong driver Jim Ka To has been confirmed for Kia Racing Team after being absent from the championship since 2013. Teamwork Motorsport has invited Samuel Hsieh to test their Citroen C-Elysee in February in preparation for the coming season.

Mazda China, that previously has confirmed participation in the championship with team Beijing Ruisi Racing, has introduced a Super Production specification Mazda Atenza (known as the Mazda 6 outside China) for the coming season. Veteran driver Chen Zhao is going to drive the car.

Beijing Hyundai Racing, the team that won both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championship of the production class in 2014, has been rumoured to move up to the premiere class.
